Outcome 2

Explain and apply interdisciplinary theories and models relevant to managing library and information service agencies.

Throughout my time at SLIM, I have learned the many theories that are the foundation of librarianship. Reference, Readers’ Advisory, Information Organization and even Library Technology Services are all derived from these theories.

For the first artifact, I have chosen a paper that looks at how an aspiring author seeks out her information for the novel she’s working on. In this paper I identify the different information seeking theories her searches fall under.

The second artifact is a presentation from a group project on organization theory. Through a mock interview of a potential school librarian, we revealed several different organization theories.
